Message	Would need to use some bluing compound to see actual face contact in order to fine tune from there. I used 4 sheets of .019" Aluminum sheets cut to match the starter and it works great. This will give you a better idea The shim that is being sold is advertised as 3/16" (4.76mm) Obviously people are able to start their cars with this shim.. but it doesn't mean tooth contact is good. You are having the very tips of the tooth face making contact which is no good.
